Expense tracker — FAQs
Is the expense tracker free?
Yes. It is free to use. Without an account your entries stay in this browser; with a free account they are saved safely and you can use them on your phone and computer.
What does "repeats every month" do?
Mark regular bills such as rent, school fees or your committee (BC) as repeating. They are added to each new month automatically, so you only enter them once. You can remove one month's copy or stop it repeating at any time.
How should I set budgets?
Start with last month's spending for each category, then lower the ones you want to cut. A common guide is 50% for needs (rent, bills, groceries), 30% for wants and 20% for savings such as gold.
Can I download my data?
Yes. Signed-in users can download a CSV file of one month or of all entries, which opens in Excel or Google Sheets.
